CAMP HILL, Pa., June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Excel Homes (excelhomes.com)
announced today its intent to purchase the assets of the former Oxford Homes
modular home manufacturer in Oxford, Maine.

The Oxford Homes purchase will allow Excel Homes to expand its presence in
New England and grow its overall footprint, which spans from Maine to Georgia.
New builder partners and those currently working with Oxford Homes will now be
served by Excel's AvisAmerica (avisamerica.com) division, long recognized as
an industry leader in manufacturing, service and design. As demand increases,
AvisAmerica will announce plans to resume production at the Oxford facility.
To reach that point, members of Oxford's sales team have been hired.

"With this acquisition, we are better able to serve the growing number of
modular builders in New England," said Jay Kedia, Excel Homes' vice president
of business development. "Maine is a leader in the modular industry. With a
stronger local presence, we can provide more assurance and stability for
modular builders in the region. We're also proud to have the opportunity to
support the foundations of an industry that has been hit hard during these
down times."

Excel Homes LLC, based in Pennsylvania since 1984 and parent to the Excel
Homes and AvisAmerica modular manufacturing divisions, has long been
recognized as a leader in the modular industry. In 2007, the company
appointed a new executive team that implemented a five-year strategic plan
focused on increasing market share and maintaining the company's reputation of
quality and innovation.

After receiving new financial backing in 2007, Oxford Homes, like many of
its local competitors, was not able to survive the current downturn in the
housing market. In April, the company laid off employees and halted
production. The former Oxford Homes site includes a 40,000 square foot
manufacturing facility capable of producing single family, multi-family and
commercial building modules. The facility also features office and warehouse
space.

According to David Patterson, president of Canbury Homes
(http://www.canbury.com) in Sanford, Maine, "This area has been hit hard over
the last year or so. Even though builders like us are still seeing strong
demand for new homes, we have lost several of our key manufacturing partners.
In order to serve our customers, we need a manufacturer we can trust to
produce and deliver quality homes. We look forward to having such a strong
local partner."

The Oxford Homes facility will join Excel Homes' current line-up of
manufacturing locations in Liverpool, Pa., Avis, Pa., and Ghent, WV.

Since 1984, Excel Homes has constructed more than 28,000 homes of the
highest quality using detailed procedures, expert craftsmen and the benefits
of innovative technologies. For more information about Excel Homes, visit
