CARPINTERIA, Calif., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) has released their 2010 Outstanding Graduates and Famous Alumni book and warmly joins us in saluting the outstanding achievements of the unique men and women who represent more than two million distance education students now studying with DETC member institutions.
It is with great pride that the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) was able to participate in the program this year and select Sara Fleming and Clark Bartram as ISSA's Outstanding Graduate and Famous Alumnae submissions, respectively.
Sara Fleming, ISSA's Outstanding Graduate, received her personal training certification from ISSA in 2008. As a stay at home mom with three kids who was looking for a part time career, ISSA's distance education program became the perfect pathway into a rewarded career as a Certified Fitness Trainer, providing her with a complete and comprehensive education in health and fitness. Since completing her course, Sara mentors other trainers both on and off the ISSA community web site and has developed a partnership with a facility in Raleigh, Crossfit-SWAT, that allows her to work with clients of all ages on a part time basis. Using ISSA principles, Sara has also developed a performance nutrition program consisting of an informational seminar followed by individual assessments and ongoing guidance that has been met with great success.
Clark Bartram, ISSA's Famous Alumni, received his personal training certification from ISSA in 2003 and has been an ISSA Master of Fitness Science since 2006. Clark is one of the most recognized fitness personalities in the U.S. and has been called "America's Most Trusted Fitness Professional." As a personal trainer, he has helped thousands of men and women transform their bodies and their lives. He also helps aspiring fitness models make a positive mark in the industry.
Both Sara Fleming and Clark Bartram's stories have been published in the "DETC Outstanding Graduate and Famous Alumni" book. They have received an official certificate in recognition of their outstanding contributions to society. They will be attending the DETC's 84th Annual Conference in April in Del Mar, CA, where they will be presented with a plaque and share their story with everyone in attendance.
For additional information, access to Sara or Clark's full, published stories, or questions, feel free to contact Sabeen Sadiq, Director of Public Relations for ISSA at ssadiq@issaonline.edu.
