| MONTEREY, Calif., Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Phil Dean Productions announces the broadcast release of an engaging new documentary entitled Women and the Badge. Women and the Badge was shot entirely on the Monterey Peninsula and chronicles the unique challenges, and victories, that females face in a predominantly male-dominated profession. The program reveals that women have come a long way since the first female police officer, Alice Stebbins Wells in 1910 -- but also states that women today still only make up about 10% of law enforcement in the United States. Distributed by the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA), the half-hour documentary will broadcast on select Public Television (PBS) stations across the country beginning April/May, 2009. Check local listings for times in your area. Women and the Badge is sponsored by Original S.W.A.T. Tactical Footwear. "Wow, what a terrific show! You did a great job and have excellent production skills." - Juliana Cocola, General Manager KYMB-TV, Monterey Bay "This documentary does a good job of redefining the challenges women face in a law enforcement career. It proves that by sheer will and determination, many female officers have and will continue to do the job and do it well ..." - George Rawson, Chief of Police, Carmel-by-the-Sea Police Department CONTACT: Phil Dean: 831.324.0102 pdvideo@comcast.net SOURCE Phil Dean Productions |
