| NEW YORK, Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- New Visions for Public Schools, the largest education reform organization dedicated to improving the quality of education children receive in New York City's public schools, today announced a leadership succession plan for its Board of Directors. Roger C. Altman, a member of the Board for 13 years, has been appointed Co-Chairman. New Visions Founder and Chairman Richard I. Beattie will continue to serve as Chairman. "This is a new and exciting step in the evolution and growth of New Visions. We are confident that Roger is the right person to lead the organization as we move forward toward realizing our goal of improving the quality of education children receive in New York City," said Mr. Beattie. "Roger's strategic leadership and energy will enhance our ability to improve outcomes for more students than ever and to develop strategies with the power to transform schools across the city." Mr. Beattie continued: "New Visions has accomplished a tremendous amount over the past twenty years. New Visions is accountable for improving student achievement in 76 New York City public schools, serving approximately 35,000 students around the city with innovative learning strategies that increase their chances of success.
