NEW YORK, Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Patrick Lagrange, a managing director at Carl Marks Advisory Group LLC (CMAG), has been named chairman of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) for 2010. In 2009, Lagrange served a one-year term as president of TMA, the premier professional corporate renewal and turnaround association.
As the newly elected chairman, Lagrange's responsibilities will include chairing meetings of TMA's board of directors and serving on the association's Executive and Operations committees. Lagrange will also function as the principal host of the three major TMA international conferences in 2010, including the upcoming Las Vegas conference (January), as well as the New York (April) and Orlando (October) conferences.
"The chairman serves as TMA's primary external representative for its membership and, to this end, helps foster awareness of the association, its mission and its activities," Lagrange explained. With more than 20 years of experience in the restructuring industry, Lagrange brings both insight and real-life knowledge of the turnaround marketplace to his position as TMA chairman. He has worked with a variety of businesses in both the United States and Canada. At CMAG, he is responsible for financial restructuring, private debt finance and mergers and acquisitions services. He also serves as CEO of the firm's broker/dealer affiliate, Carl Marks Securities LLC.
