CHICAGO, Sept. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ILOG SUPPLY CHAIN EXCELLENCE
SYMPOSIUM, -- ILOG(R) (Nasdaq: ILOG, Euronext: ILO, ISIN: FR0004042364) today
announced the ILOG Supply Chain Excellence Symposium 2008, a premium annual
forum for practitioners from the supply chain industry to discuss the business
trends, challenges and circumstances that drive the need for improved supply
chain applications. The ILOG Supply Chain Excellence Symposium 2008 will be
held September 10-12, 2008 at Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago.
Global experts will discuss supply chain strategies that will help companies
remain competitive on a global stage, including shifting from static to
dynamic supply chains and achieving a smaller carbon footprint.

The keynote will be delivered by MIT professor and global supply chain
authority ILOG Chief Science Officer David Simchi-Levi. The "Past the Tipping
Point -- The Impact of Oil Prices on Supply Chain and Business Strategies"
session will address how to develop and implement robust and efficient
techniques for manufacturing and supply chains that have been widely used to
reduce cost and improve service level in large-scale supply chains in various
industries. The other general sessions will guide supply chain practitioners
in strategizing the prime flexible supply chain that can drive down fuel
costs, help manage global risks and decrease carbon footprint by identifying
supply chain cost drivers and associated risks.

"Implementing the wrong flexible supply chain strategy can be costly,"
said Simchi-Levi. "Therefore, it is critical to identify when, where and how
these strategies are needed. Implementing the correct strategy from one end of
the supply chain to the other as opposed to managing the supply chain based on
one product at a time will better manage risk and reduce costs."

Other sessions include the following:

-- Malt-O-Meals' Mark Sellner and David Wang will discuss how to create a
supply chain competitive advantage with advanced network optimization.

-- Shell Lubricants' Jon Walkwitz will discuss decreasing cost risk
factors in "Reducing Supply Chain Costs."

-- MillerCoors' Gina Stafford-Crane, supply chain transformation project
manager, will discuss strategies for optimizing truck loading.

Executives from Accenture, TranSystems Corporation and Dow Chemical will
present real-life examples of optimized, cost-saving supply chains tuned to
the specific needs of the organization, including dynamic transportation and
logistics strategies, green logistics and sustainability, inventory
optimization, production planning and detailed scheduling, and ways to gain
the competitive edge. ILOG experts round out the speakers, discussing topics
such as multi-echelon inventory optimization, strategic routing, and
production planning and detailed scheduling.
